Egress Window Well Requirements

The required horizontal area of a window well is a minimum of 9 sf which is measured when the egress window is in the open position,   this is important when the window is a crank-out type. To obtain this size window   opening   your concrete foundation must be cut. A building permit is required to cut into a concrete   foundation   or block basement wall.
