This sump pump will evacuate a French drain tile system that has been installed in the
basement floor. French drains are installed by cutting a trench in your concrete floor along
side the foundation with a floor saw. Once the cut is made the cut concrete section is
removed along with excavated dirt. The next step is to install a drain tile which is usually 4"
in diameter and perforated. The French drain tile is covered with a nylon sock to filer out
sediment. The drain tile is pitched to the sump pit where it is installed to the sump crock. At
this point the trench is back filled with #57 gravel. Concrete is then poured into the trench
area cut. The final step is to install the sump pump, battery back up pump, control panel/

STEPS TO INSTALL A SUMP PUMP SYSTEM
- LOCATE AREA WHERE SUMP PUMP IS TO BE INSTALLED.
- BRAKE CONCRETE SLAB WITH A 50 POUND ELECTRIC JACK HAMMER
- REMOVE CONCRETE.
- USING A POST HOLE DIGGER EXCAVATE SOIL TO 3 FEET.
- INSTALL 357 gravel ON FLOR OF EXCAVATED AREA
- INSTALL PVC SUMP PUMP CRIB AND REMOVE KNOCK OUTS MAKE SURE TO
CONNECT ANY FOUNDATION DRAINS AS NEEDED. and patch concrete
- INSTALL SUMP PUMP AND DC POWERED SUMP PUMP.
- DRILL HOLE IN FOUNDATION WALL FOR PVC DISCHARGE PIPE.
- INSTALL PVC PIPE WITH BACK FLOW CHECK VALVE.
- HOOK UP BATTERY AND MONITORING ALARM UNIT TO BATTERY BACK UP SUMP
PUMP
- PLUG IN AC SUMP PUMP TO GFI OUT LET
- TEST YOUR SYSTEM TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO LEAKS AND ALL SYSTEMS ARE
OPERATING CORRECTLY.
PICTURED BELOW IS A SUMP PUMP SYSTEM FOR A OUT SIDE EGRESS STAIR CASE TO THE
BASEMENT. WE FIRST CUT THE CONCRETE FLOOR AND POUR A CONCRETE CRIB AND IN
STALL PVC PIPE BEHIND THE STAIR WELL RETAINING WALL. A SUMP PUMP AND BATTERY
SYSTEM IS THEN INSTALLED. ALL CONTROLS ARE IN SIDE YOUR HOME.
