|
This was a basement waterproofing job in Falls Church, VA. Shown here is a sump pit with a three-quarter sump pump and battery backup.
This sump pump will evacuate a French drain tile system that has been installed in the basement floor. French drains are installed by cutting a trench in your concrete floor along side the foundation with a floor saw. Once the cut is made the cut concrete section is removed along with excavated dirt. the next step is to install a drain tile which is usually 4" in diameter and perforated. The french drain tile is covered with a nylon sock to filer out sediment. The drain tile is pitched to the sump pit where it is installed to the sump crock. At this point the trech is back filled with #57 gravel. Concrete is then poured into the trench area cut. The final step is to install the sump pump, battery back up pump, control panel/ alarm, and all plumbing hookups.
